National manufactures a complete line of cutting, creasing, perforating and wave rules for all steel to steel rotary diecutters, including the new generation of semi-hard anvil diecutters that utilize a stainless cutting jacket. We combine our technology in edging, heat treating, notching and curving to provide a rule that reduces make ready and provides the longevity box makers need. While steel to steel rotary rule is available with a standard bottom, we manufacture two styles of self leveling rotary rule that are described below.
Tru-Set
National Tru-Set rule is designed with a hardened edge and a softer, thinner bottom that compresses without damage to the edge. By leveling all the rule to the lowest point that all the rule cuts (without damanging the edge), you can greatly reduce make ready. Tru-Set is available in a wide variety of bevels and can be ordered in both straight rule and curved to all standard diameters.
Rotary Self Leveling*
Rotary Self Leveling rule works on the same principle as Tru-Set rule. You must compress the rule to the lowest height that all the rule cuts without damaging the cutting edge. Self Leveling rule utilizes a softer intermittant bottom, as opposed to a thinner bottom, to form a compression zone. Like Tru-Set, Rotary Self Leveling is available in both straight and curved forms.
Notching for Steel to Steel Rotary
One of the keys to reducing make ready and improving die life is proper rule seating to the cylinder. Steel to Steel Rotary rule utilizes a back notch that has a thinner leg for better rule seating. National curves all rotary rule with the exclusive Accu Curve method that insures the rule will stay seated to the cylinder.
